Question Backpack Blowers

Hi,
I'm thinking about purchasing an Echo 25.4cc ProLite backpack gas blower.
Anyone out there have or use one now? If so I'd like to get your opinions on this unit and how you rate it.
I have slightly more than an acre and have used only hand held gas or electric blowers on this site over the past 16 years. Gas was good for getting to all areas in my yard, but electric is definitely lighter and easier to handle. My last electric burned out last week! This Echo blower weighs only 14.5 lbs., so I thought it wouldn't be much heavier than the electric and would sit on my back instead of my carrying it in my hand. I'm hoping it wouldn't be too heavy or awkward to use, even with gas in it. Does anyone know how long I can expect a full tank of gas to last? Each week it took me about 1 1/2 hours to use my electric B&D Mulch & Vac before it went belly-up.

Thanks,
Tom H

Default blowers

my name is ari and last week i bought a blower after having a tough time sweeping my grass clippings. i bought a shindaiwa eb630rt. i am very happy with it. it has a large gas tank, high air velocity, and is very light. i am not sure how much you want to spend but if you dont have to worry about money go with a better blower. also if you know people who tell you to go with redmax, shindaiwa makes all of their blowers. good luck ari

actually, redmax makes the shindaiwa eb630, and eb630 rt. it is just a rebaged redmax ebz7001.

shindaiwa makes all their other blowers though.

redmax makes all their own blowers, they are the american branch of zenoa komatsu. if you have a choice though, go with good dealer support. there is almost no differance between the ebz7001 and the eb630, although, the redmax has a sleightly better air filtration system.

Hello. I just purchased a Kawsaki KBR750 back pack blower. I can't say enough good things about this unit.

Default backpack blowers

Redmax and stihl are the 2 best backpack blowers in my opinion.
