Default Working out of my truck.

For any other guys who don't have a trailer, has anyone out there gotten a 52" walk behind onto the back of their truck. My concern is not getting it up on the truck (i have very good ATV ramps), but over the wheel humps. My bed is 8 foot long by 5 feet wide. I have 50" between the wheelhumps. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thumbs down Don't do it!

I would do absolutely anything not to try to load an expensive peice of equiptment like that in the bed of a truck. Rent a trailer until you can afford to buy ANY trailer. That's a disaster waiting to happen.

Thanks for your response. I have loaded my 44 walk behind toro with trifold ramps for the past 4 years. It is actually very safe. There are several neighborhoods that have smaller driveways and limited street parking, taking a tailer in those areas is useless unless you want to park a distance a way and walk the equipment. if I cut in a more rural area I agree that a trailer would be more useful. Right now a set up in the back of my truck works for me.

Default I agree

Are you trying to run a lawn care business or is this for personal reasons. If you are trying to run a business then yes definitely invest in a trailer for a variety of reasons. First it looks more professional. Second you will certainly need more room for other equipment. Third loading the equipment in the back of a truck is dangerous to both you and your equipment. Fourth, a trailer will be much quicker. I may have left off a few other reasons. If money is a factor, you can find a host of trailer dealerships offering great finance plans some even 0% interest and payments for up to a year. Good Luck.

It depends what neighborhoods you are in. Least expensive areas might not care what you got. However your expensive neighborhoods or pick people with a alot of money care about being professional and running it out of a truck like that is not professional. The izuzu trucks are eazy turned to get out of driveays however might be a litlte expensive but professional and will help you get larger commercial accounts.
