Default Newbie to running biz...

This looks like a great place to get info and ideas! I've been landscaping since high school (1979).

I have a medical condition that limits what I can do. My previous boss, (and friend) understood this and just let me drive the trucks and Z Masters...But kept pressuring me to do more as the season went on.

The same day I told him my hips were collapsed and needed them replaced, he asked me to help move a 300lb. picnic table!! Needless to say, that was my last day.

My surgery is done, and I'm working on my own now. I got off to a late start but have 10 grass cutting accounts, but the best thing is the landscaping work I keep getting! From an ad on Craigs List.com I got a lawn install job, that lead to a planting & mulching job, which lead to another mulch job...and it
continues!

I do good work, but need to know more about estimating jobs. I underestimated the new lawn job, but still made money.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to hear you are on your own

There will be trail and error when bidding new accounts. Sometimes the pros still make mistakes.

What part of the country are you located? Are you in a small town or close to a big city?

I can give you some ideas on pricing.

Kevin
