Arrow Walk Behind Mowers 48" or smaller

I've heard the pros and cons of belt vs hydro, but what about brands? Anyone use the Toro w/ "T-bar" ? And i've heard people say no to Scags with pistol grips. I've used one and didn't like it. So What are the options for belt drive non-pistol grip mowers? And what brands do you prefer and why?

(If you've ever mowed with a walk behind, please reply!!! Whether short or long, just give some feedback please!)
It seems like walk behind mowers are usually the start of all lawncare businesses, and even large operations use them. So hopefully this thread can get a good response!
Thanks everyone in advance.

ps. i'd ask more questions, but don't want to intimidate anyone.
pss. if you've been in my situation, or are looking at starting a lawncare business, voice your questions to.

I have used the toro 37" proline t-bar with and without jungle wheels. First I love the mower I now own two. The jungle wheels are by far the way to go! I love the t-bar action just have to watch you fingers. Nice feature though they do not go even if you have the mower in gear till you press foward on the bar.

I have also used pistol grips on bunton and lesco mowers. Nothing wrong with them you just have to reach fr them and they will build you grip up, meaning a little tuff to squeeze sometimes to stop the mower. If you have the mower in gear and don't have the pistol grips locked up they will take off, and if you do they after putting it in gear you have to unlock them and let go to get the mower going. I know you can take th locking system off and hold up the pistol grips but hand and shift the mower with your knee but just something more you have to mess with and when you are on a hill and want to stop and pick something up it is not fun.

I have used the better quick 36, and demoed other walkbehinds.

the T-bar is the best system for belt drives. it is the worst system for a hydro. I believe that hustler makes the best control system for a hydro walkbehind. followed by exmark's ECS controls.

Arrow Floating factor vs. Fixed

I'm trying to get a floating deck mower because of their very nice cut, but not sure. What's your suggestion?

Default T-bar is the way to go!

hey whats up? I just purchased a 44in Toro walk behind, T-bar, belt driven, with a floating deck. It is like a dream come true to me. I love the T-bar and the floating deck is awesome too. T-bar is sooo easy to handle and move around. They are pricy though. The only way I could afford it was because of the crazy deal I got. Hope that helps. Joel

How much did it cost you?
