I am getting ready to apply for an SBA loan to purchase a new work truck and the basic lawn equipment. I am going to create a simple business plan. I have a lot of great info and experience on the marketing and business side of things, my biggest fear is understanding how many accounts should I tell the bank that I am going to pursue/service. Is one person capable of servicing 25 accounts? I need to develop a good business model to show that I can make a profit. Any help on getting financing and the capabilities of one person to servicing residential accounts for a start up business would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I take marketing at school and had to make a business plan. So i know what your dealing with. Unfortunately, in my opinion you missed the bubble. Almost everyone i've talked to has signed a contract or isn't going to have anyone mow their lawn. Don't wait to get a loan before pursuing advertising! Figure it out and get on attracting new customers because you might end up with a large loan, and nice equipment mowing 10 lawns. But a nice zero turn and a few trimmers and maybe an edger should start you a nice business that could definately take on 25 customers if scheduled right.
Test the waters before you dive into a loan. just my 2 cents |
