Southernslang,

I would not waste the time and money rebuilding. If you look, you can find a walk behind for around $800 that will more than likely be a better fit. You could end up spendind money on this mower and it still not work correctly. Imagine spending money on the engine, then find that the transmission is not so good. Bad move. Just my opinion.

When I was working manageing an orchard not far from where i live ,i came across this self driven mower rover(about 20yrs old).seized said my boss at the time,so I said could I buy it for 50-100$.He told me I could have it and good luck in getting it going so I took it home.1 Sunday I pulled it all apart to see how it worked.Cleaned all the valves and gave the cylinder an acid bath. Then attempted to put it back together.Once i did poured some petrol and a bit of oil gave it a ripe and away she fired. So then I traded it for a push Honda. What a bargain and a great learning lesson.
Thanks Lindsay
